Sweet, an innovator in the digital collectibles arena for sports, is on the verge of introducing a pioneering SCOR rewards token in collaboration with The Open Network, with plans to commence on a duo of sports mini-games available via Telegram, the company announced on Wednesday. These developments are aimed at enriching its platforms, which already enjoy licensure from premier leagues such as the NHL and MLS.
The integration will be hosted on the “SCOR on Sweet” Telegram channel, offering users access to two mini-games: Ice Snake and Glove Hero. These games, featuring simple play mechanisms and a nostalgic graphic design, allow participants to earn digital gems during play sessions. Upon the official launch of the SCOR token on the TON network—though an official launch date remains under wraps as per Sweet officials—players will have the privilege to convert their earned gems into the SCOR token.
At the moment, these games are independent of professional licensing agreements. However, Sweet’s operational realms extend to managing the official NFT platforms for major U.S. leagues—NHL Breakaway and MLS Quest. It is anticipated that, following the SCOR token release, both platforms will facilitate the acquisition of collectibles through SCOR transactions.
Tom Mizzone, the founder and CEO of Sweet, underscored the significance of SCOR’s integration, viewing it as a transformative step towards redefining digital fan engagement and value exchange within professional sports arenas. “The enactment of SCOR-powered sports mini-apps on Telegram broadens Sweet’s engagement spectrum, concurrently opening new avenues of interaction for our professional sports affiliates with an emergent and dynamic user base,” he remarked to Decrypt, highlighting the token’s role in energizing fan participation.
In support of the token’s launch and subsequent ecosystem development, the SCOR Foundation will oversee a supply of 4 billion SCOR tokens. A strategic allocation sees 44% dedicated to fostering ecosystem growth through in-game incentives among other rewards, 21% reserved for a private sale, and 15% allocated to Sweet’s team and early contributors. The remainder will be distributed among launch partners, platform reserves, and the foundation, in a bid to anchor and expand the SCOR network’s market footprint.
This evolution in Sweet’s offerings not only speaks to the emerging symbiosis between digital collectibles and interactive engagements but also stands as a testament to the innovative pathways being carved out in the digital sports fandom and blockchain realms.
