Infinite Craft

Infinite Craft is a sandbox browser game released in 2024 developed by Neal Agarwal, in which the player starts with four elements (earth, wind, fire and water) and combines them together to obtain new things (people, astrological beings, fictional characters…). AI software, including LLaMA and Together AI, is used to produce new elements.

Gameplay

In Infinite Craft, the player starts with four elements: fire, wind, water and earth, which can be combined to create new elements. Elements are dragged from the sidebar and combined by placing them on top of each other; for example, fire and water produce steam, and plants and wizards make a druid. Elements include objects, poems, fictional characters, the universe, philosophical concepts, video games, animals, God and the Big Bang. If a player is the first in the world to discover an element, the game indicates that this is a “First Discovery”. It works in a similar way to “Little Alchemy”, but enhanced by artificial intelligence.

Development and release

New York-based developer Neal Agarwal developed Infinite Craft for his website, neal.fun. The game uses generative AI software; the LLaMA language model invents the elements, while Together AI hosts the servers. According to Agarwal, when a new element is created, a prompt is sent to LLaMA to determine the outcome.

Agarwal announced the launch of Infinite Craft on X (Twitter) on January 31, 2024. After announcing its development on January 16, 2024. Dark mode is added to the game on February 26, 2024.
